My work involves developing narratives with different groups - musicians, actors, and children, for example - exploring marginal identities and ideas around altered states of consciousness. I often devise my own workshops and lead projects through a kind of imaginative play, which I think allows the individuals and groups I work with to open up about themselves and their experiences in ways they perhaps might not normally. Working and creating with people, engaging them through the modes and techniques of filmmaking, is central to everything that I have done.

I have made films backed by the Wellcome Trust and BFI, commisioned by the record labels Mute and ATP, and supported by the Kyoto City University of the Arts.

I am the current recipient of the Pete Lloyd Lewis Award at Chisenhale Art Place.
